How to Print From a Smartphone

Doing some work at home on your smartphone and need to print something from the office? Running around and need to send something to print from your smartphone? Maybe you are running into a meeting and you need to print off of your smartphone in a hurry. Want to be able to do all of these things but not sure how?

Depending on the type of phone you have there is a wireless printing app that will work for you. Here is a tutorial on how to print from a smartphone:

iPhone

If you are using an IPad or even an IPhone the Apple AirPrint service will allow you to send the documents you need printed right to your wireless printer. AirPrint is easy and simple to use but it only works with a certain number of printers. Make sure your iOS device and your printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network or they will not connect and then you will not be able to print.

Android

If you are using an Android and you want to be able to print from your phone then you will need to know which version of the operating system your Android uses. If your Android uses the 4.4 version or higher than it has a built-in wireless printing ability that you can use. If your Android is an earlier version, then you will need to use something like Google Cloud Print app in order to send your print jobs to your desktop computer, which can then be forwarded to your printer. This process is little lengthier and involves more work.

BlackBerry

BlackBerry smartphones, though maybe not as popular as other smartphones, are still being used by business users who value their security. Newer models of this phone have new/pretty neat features like automated security in order to protect private files and a more secure messenger app. In order to print from your BlackBerry you can use an app called Print My Files. The Print My Files app allows you to print from any wired or wireless printer. The app works with Windows and PC applications but Mac’s will not work. Again, while you are setting up make sure the Wi-Fi networks for both your phone and your printer are connected and the same.

Windows Phone

Windows Smart phones are actually connected with Microsoft Office and the OneDrive cloud storage platform; this is a huge advantage for business owners. The platform, however, does not have a built in wireless printing ability which means you will have to use an app called Print Now. Print Now is a Windows Phone 8 application and it allows you to process printing jobs with Google Cloud Print.

Once you have learned how to print from a smartphone you may want to look into other/bigger printing opportunities for you and your business. Printing companies in Savannah is a great place to start when you want to look into doing some printing on a bigger scale.
